Day 8: Saturday

Tonight we'll be home again. We had to check out of our hotel at 11 am, so we set the alarm at 9:30 to do some last-minute packing because most of it was already done the night before. We ate breakfast and before we knew it, it was 11 am and we had to leave. We left our luggage at the hotel, but took our laptopbags and some essential things with us. We walked towards the center of the city, and wandered around for a while before stumbling upon a bookstore called Waterstones. We went inside and looked around for a while, and couldn't get very far because there was a book-singing from an author we didn't know. But eventually we got to the back of the store, and we found the Maze Runner series, the Harry Potter series and several books of John Green. There was also Chris Colfer's 'the Wishing Spell', and I bought it. Simone wanted the Maze Runner series so we went to another bookstore which was cheaper and she bought the whole series. We also had to visit a cash machine because we didn't have enough money for the bus. Then it was time to go back to the hotel and pick up our luggage and walk to the bus station. I payed for the bus tickets and off we went to the Leeds-Bradford airport. We arrived there after a 30-minute ride with the bus, while climbing a lot of hills. We got out of the bus and walked towards the entrance of the airport, where we visited the toilet first. We then walked to security and our passports were checked, followed by a metal detector for ourselves. We had some time left before we could board on the plane, so we went to the Burger King and ate there. We then left for the shops, which were nice to look at, but too expensive to buy. We got to the waiting room, and Simone watched a film while I read my book. After one and a half our we could finally board the plane at gate 9, which was right next to the waiting room, and went through another passport control before finally entering the plane. We sat through the safety instructions and took off. After a 40-minute flight we landed in Schiphol where our parents were waiting for us. We grabbed a bite at La Place, and then we were on our way home. After getting home I immediately went to sleep because of the exhaustion. Goodnight!
