Today the alarm was set at 8 am and we went to the train station in Harrogte after breakfast. The times trains would delart we looked up the night before, so we only had to buy tickets. We stood in front of the ticket machine, when a conductor came towards us and offered to help us so we could get our tickets easier and faster, but she accidentally charged us only half the price. But once the train departed, we had to sit out a ride of 45 minutes, with 2 random stops in the middle of nowhere, but eventually got to York Central Station at 10:45. We walked towards the city centre, occasionally stopping for something we liked, when we arrived at the York Minister. We planned to go inside, but after seeing the prices we had to pay to get inside (10 pounds) we decided that we wouldn't. So we walked into the York Minister Dean's Park, and walked towards The Shambles, located in the centre of York. In that street there were little shops which all had a certain specialty, and we went inside a shop that had self-made glass figueres, and Simone bought something as did I: a small mushroom, becaus eit was too cute to ignore. In the shop there were a lot of glass cat figures, and the shop was known for the 'lucky cats' they had. We exited the shop and I found a map that had all worth-seeing buildings with cat figueres on them, but when we couldn't even find the first one we gave up and went in another direction. Before we went to Harrogate, we looked up York to see what we really wanted to see, and the Clifford's Tower was one of the main spots we wanted to see. So when the admission price was only 3 pound 90 we went inside, and it was a lot better than I expected and certainly worth the money. But to get there you had to go up 55 steps (yes we counted them) to get there. And you coud even go up some stairs in the tower itself so you could view the whole city of York. And what a view it was! When we were out of the tower, we headed towards the centre again and went to the shop Lush. This shop sells various soaps and facial masks, so we went inside and Simone bought somthing. We were getting hungry so we looked for a bakery of some sort, and found one not ten minutes later. We both first took a picture with a man dressed up for Halloween. In the bakery I had a panini cheese tomato and Simone ordered a muffin and we walked on. Then we came across a shop which had a variety of bitrhday cards with lame jokes on them and all kinds of nerdy stuff, including Big Bang Theory, Breaking Bad and Harry Potter. It also had a variety of funny books, including 'Why Steve Was Late: 101 Exceptional Excuses for Terrible Timekeeping'. We didn'buy anything there, but I wanted to so badly. We then walked aimlessly in the centre of the city and left at 2:30 pm to arrive at 3:30 pm at the Central Station. We had to wait for another 30 minutes because the train to Harrogate left at 16:11 pm. When we arrived at Harrogate Station it was 16:45 and we went to Primark to see if there was anything worth coming back for on Saturday, but there wasn't. So we went to McDonals, and both got a Happy Meal and a McFlurry and went back to our room. After watching a bit of TV we went to bed. Goodnight! :)

Love,
Sanne
